Hi there! Welcome to the first teaching series on Simply Home Blog, Truth Un-Mixed.

I am thrilled to have you here delving into this with me. It is one of my greatest joys to allow the Lord to pour words through me as I seek to share Him with others. And He has been pressing in on me. Burdening my heart for you. I wake up thinking about you and go to bed praying for you. I am burdened for you because we are living in times when truth is so mixed up it is becoming harder and harder to find. The world distances itself more and more each day from the fundamentals of scripture. But even more alarming is that the christian culture is taking the words of God and mixing them up with their own thoughts, feelings, and ideas.   They are creating a self serving gospel, that is no gospel at all. Sometimes it is obvious and other times it is almost undetectable.

It is easy with all of the demands on us to remain unmoved by this mixing of truth that is happening before our very eyes, even inside our own homes. To just get comfortable and do what we have always done. To believe the lie that where we are is where He wants and intends for us to be. We are lulled to sleep with obligations, needs, full calendars, and the treadmill of life. But I am here to submit to you that we are living here on earth, much like Esther was in her day, for such a time as this. I hope to provoke you to go back to the Word of God and find yourself there. Because dear readers, this is not just a nice notion anymore the difference between life and death.

“And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.” Revelation 22:19

Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you. Deuteronomy 4;2

We have been warned and should heed the voice of the Lord. When He calls, He always, always calls people OUT. Out of their everyday life and into the life He wants them to live for Him. There is not one person in the pages of scripture that said Yes to Jesus and then stayed where they were. Because saying yes requires action and movement. “YES”packs bags and heads out before you know where you are going. “YES”, stands out from the crowd even when it hurts and feels lonely. “Yes”, draws a line in the sand and stands on the side of holiness. “Yes”, is both loss and great gain all at the same time. After all, once we answer the call to be His we are no longer our own. We are bought with a price. He never calls us and leaves us where we are. That is a western idea of salvation that you won’t find anywhere in the pages of scripture.

This is why I am writing to you, because now is the time to say “yes” to Him whatever that may look like in your life. But be prepared because If you say that one “Yes”, you will have to say a lot of other “no’s.”

We, as His people, must commit to know His word, know Him, and cling to the truth because confusion abounds. And it is only getting darker out there. We must commit to raising families not for the sake of having good and successful kids, but for the sake of preparing them to be warriors in a world that continues to set itself up against the fear and knowledge of God. The stakes are high, but so are the rewards.

So, I invite you to join me for a walk through Truth Unmixed. A teaching series that will address some of the mixing of truth is happening in our day. As well as urge us back to the whole word of God in order to solidify our foundation in Him so that when things get shaky our feet are planted and firm. I will be posting a new teaching from this series each week on the blog. And then when we conclude the series I will make the whole teaching available for free as a downloadable e-book. This will be a challenging series, but I urge you, if you have any desire to stand for Him in the days ahead, to raise kids who will stand for Him, please, come along for the journey and invite others you know to come along as well. The one thing I ask is that you don’t believe ANYTHING I say, instead allow my words to provoke you back to His and go seek the truth for yourself. I certainly don’t have it all figured out, but I am passionate about pursuing my Father’s heart and encouraging you to do the same. I am in this with you, shoring up my own foundation, putting in many hours of study, writing, and editing because I believe it is of the utmost importance.

And finally, thank you for allowing me into your life through reading these pages. I am a teacher at heart and a teacher with no one to teach is left wanting. So you, by the very nature of reading here, are aiding God in the call upon my life and I am eternally grateful for that responsibility. I pray these teachings play a small role in encouraging and challenging you to go further and deeper in Him than ever before. So that our lives might become a pleasing act of worship to the One who made us.  And so that we will be prepared to one day rule and reign with our Messiah, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
